My New Media Class – So Far

One of the most important technologies that is involved in new media is the internet. Most of the new media is done over the internet. For example social meeting websites are over the internet. The telephone is also a new form of new media. Not too long ago i saw a commercial on the television that was a social meeting place for people over the phone. Another technology that is part of new media is a webcam which lets people see you at the moment. The internet is important to new media because the internet has become a part of living for everyone. That has also became a new way of communication between people that are not close to each other. For example the website second life lets people with autism communicate with each other and help each other. New media has enhanced alot of old media. For example you do not have to buy a newspaper anymore becuase you can look up news that interests you on the internet. Also it has enhanced the way people listen to music by choosing the songs you want to hear. The television is another media that has been enhanced by new media because now you can watch episodes of your favorite television shows without the interruptions of commercials. New media has enhanced old media because it is evolving as time passes by.
